In 1994, Bob Emmert started his company in the back of a junkyard with two technicians who mainly specialized in recycled car parts. Today, Specialized Auto boasts 22 employees at its slightly less modest location in Santa Cruz. In fact, the building the business occupies was built by Mr. Emmert in 2005 and operates 100% on solar power.
As the name implies, the shop focuses its services on European-made vehicles. They provide bumper-to-bumper repair along with preventive maintenance and scheduled service – including smog inspection and certification. Need a car? A selection of quality used models is always available. If you just need a part or two, you can get those there as well.
Specialized Auto employs factory-trained master technicians for Volvo, Mercedes and BMW, and all mechanics are ASE and ASA Certified. They’re a Bosch Certified Service Station and AAA Approved. Not surprisingly, they’re also proud to be a Monterey Bay Green Business.
