Phil Chadd’s introduction to auto repair came when he traded hours working in a shop as payment for a motorcycle. Little did he suspect it would lead to a career he’s enjoyed since 1973. Phil managed body shops in Santa Cruz for Mercedes-Benz and Toyota before opening his own company in 1993. Fifteen years later, he’s still making an impact – the good kind of “impact” – on his customers.

Phil’s Auto Body specializes in Mercedes, Volvo and BMW, but has the experience to work with all makes and models. Like most good shops, they boast state of the art equipment and technicians certified to use it. So, what makes Phil’s different? For one thing, there’s an in-house, certified mechanic. There’s also an owner who cares enough to personally supervise each job. But perhaps the biggest difference is their commitment to the customer. Phil’s Auto Body chooses to work with all insurance carriers as an independent resource instead of contracting with specific carriers. This means they work directly for the customer – not the insurer. The customer can feel comfortable knowing all work is done with their best interests in mind.

Should the job require work better suited to another automotive professional, Phil’s Auto Body can refer you. They’ll even pick up/drop off and assist with getting a rental car. It’s no wonder, so many customers refuse to take their vehicle anyplace else.
