Gary Kennedy has been working with homeowners in Marin County and San Francisco since moving to the Bay Area shortly after the 1989 earthquake. He initially focused on repairing dry rot, and gradually expanded the business to include all phases of construction, remodeling and home repair and decks — mainly because he saw so many decks were under built, unsafe or built incorrectly.

Kennedy Construction offers a wide range of services. They’re experienced at remodeling bathroom and kitchens, including performing tiling, painting and fine finish carpentry work. You can also find them outside the home building retaining walls, decks and fences. And of course they still do dry rot repair and wood restoration. Mr. Kennedy oversees and performs most of the work on every project. If you need a service that’s not on his list, he can refer you to a number of other trusted industry professionals.

COMPANY PHILOSOPHY
“I build pretty much like my grandfather, who was a builder too…he told me: “Keep it simple, Gary; do the work yourself and pretend that you are doing it for yourself. Then if they are happy, you are happy. If they are not, go fix it” that has worked for me over the years. I like to slightly overbuild….that way elephants can have a cocktail party on it. After the work is done, I like to be able to see the client, who is now a friend of mine at the opera or San Francisco symphony and not be embarrassed to speak with them. To do that, you have to satisfy potential clients’ questions and concerns before you start and after the job is over if needed.”
