Before starting the restoration of the exterior wood surfaces of a home, Nor-Cal Wood Restoration owner Blaine Robles paints a clear picture of the transformation for the customer.

It’s elemental: sun, wind, rain and fungus has discolored the wood. So first, an anti-fungus is applied if needed, and if the wood has tannin stains, that’s remedied. Then the surface is power washed carefully and with the grain. When the surface has been properly prepared, Nor-Cal Wood Restoration uses a hibrid latex paint that’s half oil-based primer. This transparent finish let’s the original beauty of the wood shine through.

When one of his crews is restoring the exterior wood surfaces of a home to their original beauty, Nor-Cal Wood Restoration owner Blaine Robles personally oversees every phase of the operation. He has been in the trade since 1987 and started Marin County’s first Preserving/painting company in 1994. Blaine personally trains the crews. They are congenial, clean and do a superb job

While this very professional company specializes in wood restoration, it also does general painting. Most of their work is done on private residences but they also take on larger projects.
