Derrick Scott served as a professional driving instructor for the state of California from 1979 to 1986. In 1986, he founded Apex Driving School. Since then, his mission has been to save lives through teaching a solid, scientific approach to safe driving. A welltrained driver has a greater understanding and appreciation for his/her ability to respond to traffic conditions. A skillful driver is also more conscious of a vehicle’s performance limits.

Apex Driving School offers a variety of flexible programs to meet the needs of drivers of all ages and all experience levels. Training for new drivers includes time behind the wheel as well as assistance preparing for DMV written and driving tests. Apex has experience in working with low vision and hearing impaired students. They can also accommodate drivers with medical conditions that impact driving ability, and provide cognitive/perception deficit evaluations. Group and corporate fleet training is also offered. Students can pay as they go or purchase a lesson package at a discounted rate. Special classes and workshops are also offered throughout the year.
